Needle size?

What size needles is everyone using? I've done the first chart with #3's. It looks a bit small to me and I'm thinking about frogging back and restarting with #4's.

I am using #3's, but it is looser than yours. I was actually admiring how yours looked and wondered what size you were using, before you made this post.
I'm using KnitPicks Shadow, Jewels.

And I am using 2s, as I knit a bit looser than most people. Sallee and I took a lace class online almost two years ago, and the teacher advised pinning out your lace early on, say the end of chart one, steaming lightly with a towel covering it, letting the lace dry and then deciding if your personal yarn/needle combo gave you the lace look you want, so I am happy that my 2s are giving a dense enough fabric to see the details but not obscure them by being too tightly knit.

Hmmmm..wouldn't it be nice to know how large the shawl should be after each chart? Hmm....

I'm using US # 3s also, with KnitPicks Shadows, Oregon Coast, and I'm a fairly loose knitter, so although it looks small and scrunched up, when I stretch it out, it looks just right (just finished Chart 3). The Shadows wool has a lot of elasticity (more than my last project where I used Jaggerspun Zephyr; its 50/50 wool/silk content is not quite so stretchy as the merino in Shadows).

Hi! I'm not a KAL member, since I finished my Hidcote with the Lacevember KAL, but I thought you might want more input anyway. ;-) I used size 3 Addi turbos for mine. (But I'd use size 3 bamboo if I knit Hidcote again.) I used Misti Alpaca Lace for my yarn, purchased online from Webs. There are pictures in the November 2006 entries on my blog.
